Versatile Wardrobes & Custom Storage

Among our earliest BoxMakers projects, the wardrobes for this towering Auckland home were a joy to design and put together. Comprising of several sets across different rooms, these wardrobes and cabinets were designed to be section-specific and with just as much variety as the house as a whole (which meant quite a lot).

From the outset, our goal was to tailor each set of cabinetry exactly to their room, from cabinets to storage, and drawers & shelves.

To start off, our walk-in wardrobe cabinetry consisted of pale white MDF to match the walls. It offered a triple rod set up with multiple slots for shelving in between, each of varying sizes to accommodate for different storage needs; whether it be socks, shirts, or slippers. At the bottom right, we installed a tri-selection of drawers with soft-close systems for silky operation.

Next up, our standing wardrobe solution made it easy to keep both clothing and supplies hidden. Without a walk-in robe, this bedroom had the privilege instead of hosting a triple suite of wardrobes. Featuring three sets of double doors, these floor-to-ceiling units are capable of tucking away the puffiest jackets and the longest dresses, all behind a beautiful façade of light woodgrain, breathing brevity against the darker hardwood floor.

Finally, the storage room saw an exceptionally versatile set of military-tan storage cabinets. Instead of being floor-to-ceiling, this set stretches from wall to wall. Taking on the appearance of institutional lockers, these handleless beauties are for the minimalist utilitarian. More than just tall cabinets, this set also features shelves both large and small, and J-pull drawers – all for a flat, flush face profile.
