A Worldly Window to Wisdom

Within this award-winning home, BoxMakers crafted this exquisitely laid corner bookshelf. Blossoming from the inspirational canvas of a blank corner, we designed this feature around a gorgeous set of windows, including its seamless glass-to-glass corner panes.

Sitting opposite the kitchen, our creative team saw the convenience of a veritable library mere steps away. Combined with the sweeping views of coastal North Shore, this made the ideal place for a cosy reading corner, in any season.

Aligned perfectly with the window joinery, we built the bookshelves in an over/under formation, sandwiching the windows with two tiers of shelving both above and below. We matched the corner window with an elegant wraparound shelf. Between the bays, we included double sized partitions for a thicker, more nuanced look, and tough enough to hold even the weightiest of encyclopaedias.

In keeping with our colour & material scheme for the kitchen, we finished this piece in Prime Melamine’s Charred Walnut. This refined pairing gives the impression of reading & resting amidst adventurous northern trees while enjoying all the benefits of a modern New Zealand home.

With plenty of space for decoration and storage, this set of bookshelves can add an incredible amount of elegance and wisdom when fully populated, seriously completing the image of a kitchen-side library.
