Breezy Woodgrain Laundry With Smart Features

BoxMakers offer practical, smart, and stylish laundry solutions. For this Waiheke Island renovation project, we installed a gorgeous woodgrain-finished solution that combined natural colours and patterns with smart navigability.
The owner specified a laundry that could accommodate any and all functions required for universal operability without sacrificing the classic natural look exuded throughout the home. Taking on a lighter tone, this laundry room was envisioned as a reprieve from the typically dark, moody, and thick tones of the accompanying bathroom and living furniture.
Being the centre of business, the benchtop is made from 30mm thick Euro Birch joinery plywood with linoleum furniture. Fixed into it is an undercounter basin – a Zuri rectangular sink from ABI Interiors. Behind, we used Marmoleum linoleum as the splashback, likewise for the benchtop itself. The soft greys contribute to the breezy atmosphere slated for this space.
Above, the plywood panels can lift thanks to Blum’s Aventos system, allowing for easy handleless operation. The under-bench cabinets also make for smart storage, featuring a 3-tier handleless drawer system, notch-cut finger pull doors, and a pull-out laundry basket drawer from Häfele’s Hailo series.
We implemented perfectly measured spaces for the washer & dryer units, featuring an over/under arrangement divided by a conveniently-placed pull-out tray. This culminates in a cleverly integrated package that balances the best of practicality with aesthetics.
Overall, this is a complete laundry room that features sunlight and versatility. Its natural aesthetic adds to its intended breeziness, making even chores feel swift, easy, and even fun.
